EDI for Dynamics Business Applications Canada – Business Central, NAV and Great Plains

EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange, and refers to the data exchange between two partners within a supply chain.  Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV each have EDI capabilities and add-on software to allow for companies to exchange documents electronically using specific standard without human intervention.  Used extensively within Retail, CPG, Supply Chain & Distribution clients as well as Manufacturing clients to issue purchase orders, receive invoices and provide confirmations to their customers.   The following illustration showcases how EDI documents  (such as ANSI X12, XML, and .csv files) are transferred back and forth between trading partners.
